As part of its efforts to educate youth – our future leaders – about the harmful effects of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and forced early marriages, Pastoralist Child Foundation (PCF) incorporates sports into the community outreach programs. Soccer and volleyball are 2 very popular sports among Kenyan youth.
PCF invited 6 male soccer teams and 6 female volleyball teams from 6 different villages in the East Ward of Samburu District to participate in its inaugural annual sports tournament. The 12 teams competed peacefully during the 3 day tournament at Archer’s Post Stadium in December, 2015.

The event brought huge excitement to Archer’s Post as spectators from all over Samburu County cheered for their favorite teams!

This year, 2016, we had a very successful second tournament. We will hold the tournaments every December.
